Plagiarism Policy

 

The Editorial Team of Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah acknowledges that plagiarism is a serious academic offense and, therefore, establishes the following policy outlining specific actions (penalties) to be taken if plagiarism is identified in any manuscript submitted for publication in Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah.


Definition

Plagiarism is the act—whether intentional or unintentional—of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or recognition for a scientific work by reproducing or quoting part or all of another person’s scholarly work and/or work recognized as a scientific contribution, without providing proper and adequate citation to the original source.


Policy Statement

  • All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Any material reproduced verbally or textually from other sources must be clearly identified and properly cited to distinguish it from the author’s own text.

If plagiarism is detected, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the case and determining the appropriate course of action according to the severity of the plagiarism, guided by the following criteria:


Levels of Plagiarism and Actions

  1. Minor Plagiarism:
    A few short sentences or phrases are copied from other works without proper citation.
    Action: The author will receive a warning and be asked to revise the manuscript and correct the citations appropriately.

  2. Major Plagiarism:
    A substantial portion of the manuscript is copied from other works without adequate citation or acknowledgment of the source.
    Action: The manuscript will be rejected for publication in Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah, and the author may be subject to sanctions prohibiting future submissions to the journal.


Author Responsibility

All authors are collectively responsible for the content of their submitted manuscripts, as they are required to sign a Letter of Originality for Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah. If a manuscript is found to be plagiarized, all listed authors will be subject to the same disciplinary actions.

If an author is found to have submitted a manuscript simultaneously to Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah and another journal, and such overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, actions will be taken in accordance with the Major Plagiarism policy above.

In cases of plagiarism that do not fit precisely within the categories listed, the Editorial Board of Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah reserves the right to determine and impose appropriate sanctions in accordance with its ethical and editorial policies.
