Peer Review Process

Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah implements a double-blind peer-review process, in which both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the review process. Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

Every manuscript accepted for review in Al-Ihsan: Jurnal Bisnis dan Ekonomi Syariah is evaluated by qualified reviewers registered with the journal. The review process is conducted within a maximum period of 30 (thirty) days, with each reviewer allocated up to 10 (ten) working days to complete their review. If a designated reviewer is unable to complete the review within the specified time, the Editor-in-Chief will appoint another reviewer to ensure the process remains timely and efficient.

During the review process, reviewers are expected to provide evaluations based on:

  • The consistency and relevance among the title, abstract, introduction, discussion (results), and conclusion;

  • The originality and novelty of the research;

  • The scientific impact and contribution to the field;

  • The adequacy and appropriateness of references used.

Review Process Flow

  1. Manuscript Submission by the author.

  2. Initial Editorial Evaluation (some manuscripts may be rejected or returned before peer review).

  3. Double-Blind Peer Review Process.

  4. Editorial Decision — options include:

    • Accepted Submission

    • Revisions Required

    • Resubmit for Review

    • Decline Submission

  5. Decision Notification — confirmation and communication of the editorial decision to the author.

The final decision regarding the acceptance of manuscripts is made by the Editors, based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations. The publication order of accepted articles is determined by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the date of acceptance and the geographical diversity of the authors.
